JUNK EMBELISHED

Month long micro-residency and project

by Simnikiwe Buhlungu and Joe Turpin

July - August 2016

Junk Embellished is piece that serves as the product of Simnikwe Buhlungu and Joe Turpin’s month long micro-residency at BHEKA and stems from years of artistic partnership. Throughout 2011 to 2013, this process involved engagement with street art particularly through the use of stencils, stickers and playful imagery. This mural can be seen as a continuation of that working relationship, albeit with a more considered intention and artistic framework. For more information click here
